"Greater delights await."

A reimagining of Clive Barker's 1987 cult classic is being unleashed onto our mortal world in the form of Hulu's Hellraiser, with Jamie Clayton starring in the iconic role of Pinhead, the leader of the otherworldly sadists known as the Cenobites. In this reboot, a young woman (Odessa A'zion) struggling with addiction comes into possession of the ancient puzzle box that summons the Cenobites from their Hell-like realm.

Based on Barker's horror novella The Hellbound Heart, the Hellraiser franchise has spawned four theatrical releases — the original (which Barker wrote and directed), 1988's Hellbound: Hellraiser II, 1992's Hellraiser II: Hell on Earth, and 1996's Hellraiser IV: Bloodline — and six straight-to-video sequels over 35 years. In the original film and a number of its sequels, Pinhead was portrayed by Doug Bradley.

Barker is a producer on the reboot, alongside David S. Goyer, Keith Levine and Marc Toberoff, with David Bruckner directing from a script by his The Night House scribes Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski. The cast also includes Adam Faison, Drew Starkey, Brandon Flynn, Aoife Hinds, Kit Clarke, and Goran Visnjic.

"This is not a remake. I just didn't think you could ever remake the original Hellraiser," says Bruckner (via Entertainment Weekly). "It's too much its own thing and it would be, I think, perilous territory for filmmakers because how do you top that? This is a new story in the Hellraiser universe."

Hellrasier is streaming on Hulu on Oct. 7. Watch the trailer below.
